प्रलेस का राष्ट्रीय सम्मेलन 12 अप्रेल से दिल्ली में

नयी दिल्ली। प्रगतिशील लेखक संघ की 75 वीं जयंती मनाने के लिये संघ का 15 वां राष्ट्रीय सम्मेलन आगामी 12 अप्रेल से दिल्ली के दिल्ली विश्वविद्यालय परिसर में आयोजित होने जा रहा है। इस सम्मेलन में देशभर के नामचीन लेखक, कवि व कलाकार हिस्सा लेंगे। आयोजन में अपनी भागीदारी सुनिश्चित करने के आह्वान के साथ संघ के महासचिव डॉ. अली जावेद ने एक पत्र जारी किया है, जिसका मजमून कुछ इस प्रकार है:

‘‘ जैसा कि आपको विदित है कि प्रगतिशील लेखकों का आंदोलन इस उप-महाद्वीप में सबसे प्रभावी साहित्यिक आंदोलन रहा है। प्रेमचंद, फैज अहमद फैज,द सज्जाद जहीर, मुल्कराज आनंद, हीरेन मुखर्जी, राजिन्दर सिंह बेदी, कृश्न चंदर, सआदत हसन मंटो, इस्मत चुगताई, मखदूम मोहिउद्दीन, मजाज, मजरूह सुल्तानपुरी, साहिर लुधियानवी, भीष्म साहनी, अली सरदार जाफरी व कैफी आजमी जैसे शीर्ष नाम इस आंदोलन से जुड़े रहे। प्रगतिशील लेखक संघ की स्थापना 1936 में जवाहर लाल नेहरू व रवीन्द्र नाथ टैगौर के सक्रिय समर्थन से हुई थी और मुंशी प्रेमचंद इसके पहले अध्यक्ष बने। भारत के स्वाधीनता आंदोलन को सहयोग प्रदान करने के लिये लेखकों, कवियों, कलाकारों को गोलबंद करने के लिये प्रगतिशील लेखक संघ ने अग्रणी भूमिका निभाई। संघ की अगुआई करने वाले कई नामों को तत्कालीन व्यवस्था का दमन झेलना पड़ा व उन्हें जेल भी जाना पड़ा। महान सामाजिक संदर्भों में उनका लेखन आने वाले पूरे दौर के लिये प्रासंगिक है। आजादी के पश्चात भी प्रगतिशील लेखक संघ धर्मनिरपेक्ष मूल्यों व जनतंत्र के लिये पथप्रदर्शक रहा है।

आगामी 12, 13 व 14 अप्रेल 2012 को प्रगतिशील लेखक संघ का राष्ट्रीय सम्मेलन दिल्ली में होगा।आपसे अनुरोध है कि प्रगतिशील लेखक संघ की 75 वीं जयंती मनाने के लिये इस सम्मेलन में हिस्सा लें।’’

Dear Friend,

As you are aware, the Progressive Writers' Movement (PWA) has been the most influential literary movement of the Sub-Continent. luminary like Prem Chand, Faiz Ahmad Faiz, Syed Sajjad Zahir, Mulk Raj Anand, Hiren Mukherji, Rajinder Singh Bedi, Krishna Chandar, Saadat Hasan Manto, Ismat Chughtai, Makhdoom Mohiuddin, Majaz, Majrooh Sultanpuri, Sahir Ludhianvi, Bhishm Sahni, Ali Sardar Jafri, Kaifi Azmi to name a few, have been associated with this movement. The PWA was founded in 1936 with the active support of Jawaharlal Nehru and Rabindarnath Tagore, and Munshi Prem Chand was its first president. PWA took the lead in mobilizing writers, poets, artists and intellectuals to support the freedom struggle of India. Many leading lights of the PWA suffered repression and imprisonment by the then establishment. Their writings have great social relevance for all the times to come. PWA continued to be torch bearer of secular values and democracy after independence.

National Conference of the PWA will be held at Delhi (Conference Centre, University of Delhi, North Campus) on 12^th, 13^th and 14^th April 2012. You are requested to attend this conference to celebrate 75 years of PWA. Please confirm your participation to enable us to make your stay arrangements.

Arrangements for your stay during the conference will be made near Delhi University. This will be communicated to you later.
