Homage to the martyrs of freedom struggle by IPTA & AIPSO, Jammu

Jammu. To pay homage to the martyrs of freedom struggle Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh, Rajguru, Sukhdez and revolutionary poet Avtaar singh ‘Paash, IPTA and AIPSO J&K Chapter organized a function today on 23rd March 2014 at Govt. Polytechnic College(boys) Auditorium

Prof. Sada Shiv(Delhi University), Sh Janak Raj(Ex-MP),Sh. Vijay Bakaya ,Jb. A.R. Tuckroo(Secy. CPI,J&K State)and Jb. Anwar Choudhary (an eminent lawyer) graced the occasion as guests of honour. The programme began with paying tributes to the martyrs by the members of IPTA,AIPSO along with the dignitaries and other prominent guests.

Sh. Ashwani Pradhan, General Secretary, AIPSO, welcomed the guests and threw light on the importance of the day. Sh. Sanjay Gupta, Gen. Secy. IPTA, briefed the gathering regarding the need of Spreading the message of martyrs to the young generation.

The programme was divided in two sessions. The first session was the performance of the play by IPTA artists and the second session was a seminar on the topic “The threats of Communalism” in which Prof. Sada Shiv of Delhi University was the main speaker.

In this connection IPTA a solo performance RU-B-RU-Ek safar based on Bhagat Singh’s article “Why I’m an Atheist” synchronized with Avtaar ‘Paash’ and Manoj Sharma’s poetry.
The Solo traces the journey of Bhagat Singh from being a staunch theist to that of embracing Atheism. The Solo opens with a poem “Bharat’. The solo performer is reading Bhagat Singh’s article and while reading the article, he goes into a trance as if he himself is Bhagat Singh. His trance is broken by the recitation of poetry by his contemporaries.His going into trance and coming out of it was well synchronized with relevant poetry and light music effects.

The Solo was conceived and performed by Manoj Bhat. Ritvik Gupta on Guitar and Rohit Verma on violin provided vibrancy to the performance. The poetry recitation was done by Sanjay Gupta,Miss. Sheetal Raina and Rohit Verma. Backround music was arranged by Hariket Jij.

In the second session Prof. Sada shiv dwelt at length on the topic of the seminar. He opined that communalism is taking the country to the brink of disintegration. He stressed that, for the petty political gains , politicians indulge in caste games caring a fig for the country.
Jb. Anwar choudhry presented the vote of thanks.
